this is a long belated post of my last visit just beyond Soho area in hk. or Soho has extended its map to Aberdeen street and Gough street bringing more interesting dining and shopping experience to us. TAKAccessory opened just recently in sept 2010. it is just opposite to one of my favorite vintage jewelry shops, Evelyn Artwear, on Aberdeen street. Taka carries costume jewelries which are designed by their own local designer / owner Coney Ko and some are imported from Japan. they are brand new jewelry with a vintage twist. they also sell a small collection of scarves and hair accessories. I got two slim bangles in gold and silver and a very vintage looking lace scarf.

Evelyn Artwear has been around for about 10 years now. think they have been at the same location for the longest time when Aberdeen street is not known for interesting boutiques but local printers or photocopiers. I love how the shop, even renovated about a year ago, has minimal furbishing and the rustic, shabby chic kind of decor is really welcoming and cozy. 80% of the stocks are handmade designs by owner Evelyn and the rest are vintage jewelries in nice condition from 40s to 60s. they have quite a number of Trifari is you're a fan. they offered me 40% off for I shopped on my birthday month! I got this beautiful darkened silver bangle with flowery designs from the 50s.
