a slow stroll along wellington street after dinner tonight was really nice. wellington street in central is an interesting area where the old meets the new. lined with mainly "tong lau" (ancient residential buildings) on both sides of the street and many restaurants and chinese eateries on the street level, there are a lot more interesting shops and small vendors doing business there. you can find a mediterranean restaurant (Habibi), one of the oldest dim sum places in hk (Lin Heung), couture / bridalwear dressmaker (Cecilia Yau), boutique hotel, serviced apartments, spa (Body Zen), swimwear & resort wear designer shop (Sabrina Swims) and art jamming studio, all these in the same street next to the wet open market, some old grocery stores and a bunch of street vendors. I hope the area gets to keep its good mix of old and new always.
