White by Vera Wang - be a Vera wearer

girl-friend miss pine (mrs zackor-to-be) is on the search for THE DRESS in past few weeks and has been showing me her potential finds online lately. like all brides, she started from a price point close to her budget in mind but as the search goes deeper and the more designs she was shown and being fitted, her heart started to sway... towards the pricier range. cuz at the end of the day, the story usually goes: the pricier it gets, the better. we'll start to reason with ourselves..."oh, the design is more exquisite; the draping is prettier. it fits me much better. and of course, more lace and organza!" this can go on for a bit...

back in May last year, the designer of one of the most desired bridal gowns in most girl's dream, Vera Wang, struck a deal with David's Bridal to design a less-expensive bridal collection to be launch in spring 2011. the wait is over and the beautiful collection White by Vera Wang is finally up on David's Bridal website. they are available to be shopped online or at all David's stores across the US from Feb 11 onwards. all the dresses are super reasonably priced between $600 and $1,400 (Wang's luxe line starts at $6,000 and can go up to $12,000 or more ). for those who were once skeptical about a less premium line of Wang's design and the association with a mass bridal name of David's, their doubt will vanish immediately after seeing the collection. it boasts every bit of Vera's signature elegance and sophistication. and for some designs, they are certainly not lack of yards of nice fabrics. hand appliquéd  lace, full tulle, hand-cut organza and chiffon and grosgrain sash are amongst the fabrics used. great designs can also mean accessibility and good value; it is a trend at large experimented by quite a few top fashion designers nowadays.

"I think that there is great validity to really serious and great design at a price that is accessible to most women. I think that's not even about the future, I think that's here," as the most coveted bridal designer said herself.

inspirations were taken from some of the famous designs of Wang for celebrity brides:

Chelsea Clinton's dress

 Ivanka Trump's dress

 Kate Hudson in Brides War

the collection was previewed at Ophra's show last Sep and already brides-to-be were getting so excited about the launch and it was rumored all the dresses were already on a long waiting list. it's only the beginning, starting from Jun, White by Vera Wang will be offering bridesmaid dresses, accessories, shoes and gloves. more girls can now be a Vera wearer.
